Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha. The festival is celebrated in a grand manner in the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Telangana, Gujarat,and Chhattisgarh. But over time it has gained popularity all over the country. And West Bengal is not lagging behind, more 1, 200 puja clubs and committees will be observing Ganesh Puja this year in Kolkata.
Some of them had started this on a small level but now the celebration has grown bigger with Lord Ganesha’s grace. A club from Kolkata completed 10-years. There’s also an 82-year-old Telegu Community in the city celebrates this festival in a grand way. Their ‘prasad’ is prepared with seasonal products such as jackfruits and all the items are either boiled or steamed. The Puja is observed for 4 days and the ‘visarjan’ will take place on Sunday.However, Kolkata will be saying its goodbyes to Ganesha for a short period of time only to welcome him back with his mother and whole family soon during Durga puja.
