Pujo is just one week away, and it is probably unsurprising if all your plans are sorted out. However, if you are a regular pandal hopper, you must be aware of the fact that unforeseen traffic jams, new routes and the crowd can always turn your plans topsy-turvy.
This year, Kolkata Police has launched ‘Bandhu’ app which will be providing you with live information about 1,800 pujo pandals that includes the crowd status in and around the pandals, transport availabililty and e-guidemaps. Additionally, it also has categories for missing mobile tracking and e-general diary. The authorities are also toying with the idea of live streaming anjali and other rituals from selected pandals.
Apart from the ‘Bandhu’ app, the Kolkata Police has also upgraded ‘UtsavApp’, which was released a few years ago and gained a fair amount of popularity. Users can navigate through lanes and bylanes to reach their desired destination. It also lists out emergency contacts of nearest nursing homes, hospitals and police stations. The app also displays nearby restaurants coupled with their average ratings. A new section has been added for pujo committees, who can update details regarding their pandals- themes, images and attraction details among several others. UtsavApp also links your profile to Uber, which makes it easier for you to get a cab and avoid the traffic.
So this year, put an end to the problems that crop up and enjoy your pujo like never before. Just head over to the Google play store or iOS app store, download the required apps and have a safe and smooth pujo.
