Kolkata Metro's Orange Line Route Services From Dakshineswar To Ruby Will Begin, Fare List Has Been Shared

Commencing on December 24, a new era in Kolkata's metro services will unfold as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the extended metro line from Kavi Subhash (Dakshineswar) to Hemanta Mukhopadhyay (Ruby). The integration of the metro ticket system will allow passengers to seamlessly travel on the Blue Line (North-South Metro) and the newly introduced orange-line services.

Passengers boarding from Dakshineswar can now reach Ruby with a single ticket. The Kolkata Metro authorities announce the initiation of the integrated ticket system, eliminating the need for separate tickets when changing trains at Kavi Subhash station.

Starting from Kavi Subhash, the minimum fare to reach Ruby (Hemanta Mukhopadhyay) is set at 5 INR, while the maximum fare is capped at 20 INR. The fare structure increases by 5 INR for each subsequent station. For example, the journey from Kavi Subhash to Satyajit Ray station will cost 5 INR, and the fare will increment by 5 INR for each subsequent station.

To reach Ruby from Kavi Subhash, passengers have two options: a direct route or an alternative route via the underground path. The direct route incurs a metro cost of only 20 INR, while the alternative path will cost 20 INR for the metro fare.

On the other hand, the fare for the Dakshineswar to Ruby route ranges from a minimum of 25 INR to a maximum of 45 INR. Notably, any station between Dakshineswar and Shobhabazar-Sutanuti will have a fixed fare of 45 INR, while the fare from Girish Park to Rabindra Sarobar will be 40 INR. The stretch from Mahanayak Uttam Kumar to Masterda Surya Sen will incur a fare of 35 INR, and from Geetanjali or Kavi Nazrul to Ruby, the fare will be 30 INR. The most economical journey will be from Shahid Khudiram to Ruby, costing only 25 INR.

With these new developments, Kolkata Metro aims to provide commuters with a cost-effective and integrated travel experience, offering diverse fare options based on their journey preferences.
