On 30th July 2018, the Bidhannagar City Police inaugurated a police kiosk near gate 2B of the NSC Bose International Airport. The inauguration programme was graced by the presence of the Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar, Shri Gyanbant Singh, Airport Director Atul Dikshit and a few senior CISF officials. Considering the urge of the Airports Authority of India, Bidhannagar Police attempts to restructure the movement of online cabs and yellow taxis outside the Kolkata airport.
A senior police official of Bidhannagar Commissionerate said "Along with the prepaid taxi booking facility, it will work round-the-clock as an assistance booth. The kiosk's structure has been in accordance with the aesthetics of the airport."
“This will help the passengers get assistance at any point of time. The cabs have a tendency to create congestion, keeping the passengers waiting for a longer time. We are taking initiatives to reduce the waiting time of the passengers, keeping the lane free” says Shri Gyanbant Singh.
