Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan last year made his television debut as the host of Tamil reality show Bigg Boss, which was received well and went on to become a huge hit among viewers. The Makkal Needhi Maiam founder is all set to return with the second season of ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’. The promo of season 2 was said to have been shot earlier this week in a studio in Chennai.
Not long ago, reports emerged that Haasan, who recently announced his full-fledged plunge into politics, may not return as the host for season 2. It was rumoured that actor Arvind Swamy might replace him! However, these rumours have officially been quashed now. According to reports, the new season of Bigg Boss will go on air in June. The viewership of the show was pegged at 6.5 crore impressions worldwide.
The first season of Bigg Boss Tamil originally had 15 contestants. We can safely expect a more flamboyant line-up this year. “Bigg Boss Tamil has written a new chapter in the history of South Indian television entertainment and that still would be an understatement. Thanks for giving me such a big success in my career as a television host. I consider it as a big fortune,” Kamal had said during the finale of season one last October.
