One of the top-ranking universities of the state plans to set foot outside India to start offshore courses in foreign universities. Jadavpur University is in plans of collaborating with four universities in China, and other in institutions in Russia, Poland, and Hungary. The university will offer self-financing courses on the university campuses based on the distant shore, entirely for the students of those countries.
This initiative will give the teachers of JU to go across the border to offer programmes curated by them. It is going to leave a huge trail of the university in the offshores and internationalization of higher education. Vice-chancellor of Jadavpur University, Suranjan Das said that he will the Russian Consul General with proposals to run similar courses with universities in their country and JU will hold a seminar with a conglomerate of Polish universities in September.
