How to reach: If you are travelling to Jorpokhri then travel by any train to NJP and from there, you need to hire a car. It is just 19 km from Darjeeling town. From Ghoom station, you need to take the road to Mirik. It will take you one and a half hour to reach Jorpokhri via India Nepal border. You can also avail a flight and get down in Bagdogra. Hire cabs and reach Jorpokhri.
What to see: Jorpokhri is the perfect place for romance and for couples who crave for serenity and peace. Nature will offer you the best possible views including the swans in the natural lake. There is a forest that is full of pine and dhupi trees. You can take a walk and enjoy the exquisiteness around you. Jorpokhri is mainly a nature reserve and is a part of the Senchal forest. In Jorpokhri you will find a lot of salamanders and other smaller creatures. The best part is the view of the Darjeeling landscape and Himalayan snowcapped peaks. It is best to visit the place from October to March.
Where to stay: There are a number of tourist lodges. Homestays are available in few places but it is good to stay in lodges. These are well equipped and reasonably priced. Both veg and non-veg foods are available in Jorpokhri.
