Director J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage, A Monster Calls) takes us back to the Jurassic World, except the fact that now the dinosaurs are the ones in trouble, as the volcano on Isla Nublar threatens with an inevitable eruption. Our heroes set out to salvage a second extinction. Let's start out with the storyline - it's a fresh take on what a Jurassic Park film should be with some pretty epic visuals in the first part of the film and the second half is a quasi-horror delight. We didn't think that we could still be impressed by CGI dinosaurs, but we totally are. Visually, it's mesmerizing and the film is also a political satire that questions the ethical implications and economic advantages of poaching genetically engineered animals, be it for corporate seed money, to keep as collector’s items or biopharmaceutical weaponry.
We love every aspects of a Jurassic flick and this is undeniably a great sequel.
