“Give me blood and I will give you freedom” – The most famous quote by one of the known patriot Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose who turns 121 on the 23rd January 2018. ‘Netaji’ was added to Subhas Chandra Bose’s name as a mark of honour as the word in hindi means ‘Respected Leader.’ The man was not just patriotic but was rather mysterious. A genius by birth Bose excelled in whatever he did. Bose is regarded as the patriotic idol and even till date inspires young men and women.

If there is an ultimate name for patriotism then it’s Subhas Chandra Bose.


Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had become the mayor of Calcutta (Kolkata) in 1930.


He had escaped from an arrest in 1941 to meet Adolf Hitler in Germany.


He stood fourth in the Indian Civil Service Examination.


In 1923, he had become the President of All India Youth Congress and had even become the secretary of Bengal State Congress.


Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had become the editor of a newspaper named ‘Forward’ and later he opened his own publishing house named ‘Swaraj.’


Subhas Chandra Bose had been elected twice as the President.


Bose was the first person to address Mahatma Gandhi as ‘The Father of The Nation.’


Mahatma Gandhi had honoured him with the title of being ‘Patriot of Patriots’


Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s death remains a mystery even till today.
