IIT Kharagpur and Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) of Japan have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for exploring opportunities to establish a research center for facilitating collaborative projects together. Both the organizations will focus on a state of the art joint certification courses to be offered to students in fields of technology and management which would be taught by faculties from both the countries. The MoU is signed keeping in mind the professional development of the students. The proposed center at IIT Kharagpur will provide with collaborative projects and training modules to enhance styles of management and leadership. S K Bhattacharyya, Deputy Director of IIT KGP said,
Japan's expertise in this area along with sensor technologies will be extremely beneficial in offering short courses jointly by IIT Kharagpur and Japanese organizations.
