Houseboats soon to float on the Ganga

Over the years, the West Bengal Tourism Department has introduced various vessels on the Ganga, which are luxurious in nature. The Mayurpankhi, which is a boat in the shape of a Peacock, is the most recent addition on the Ganga where boat parties, wedding receptions etc. can take place.

The Ganga shall soon have houseboats floating on it. These houseboats shall have all modern amenities. The houseboat has a conference hall, with all technologically advanced modern equipment’s for a corporate meet, a banquet, where reception parties and wedding ceremonies can take place, a full-fledged bar counter and a restaurant. The houseboat shall be totally air-conditioned.

Initially, the service will be available only for tourists for an amount of Rs. 5,000/- for three hours. The State Tourism Department plans to get more such boats in the future and make the service available even to the general public.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has even named these boats! The State Tourism Department shall soon reveal the secret names.
