Headmaster receives president award

This year a headmaster of a primary school reached a new height after receiving the national award for teachers. Amitava Mishra,48 residing in the tribal populated Manbazaar is the only teacher from Bengal to receive this award. He will be receiving the prestigious award from the President on Teachers' Day (which is on 5th Sept). According to the source, the state government had already submitted six names which includes Mishra. The ministry of human resource development has instructed the state government officials to follow some guidelines. Mishra from Bengal is the only person who has been chosen for the award. 45 other teachers from different parts of the country have also been selected. When Mishra became a part of the Gobindapur Primary School family in 2006, it was a single-story building with two rooms and there was no electricity. "There were a total of 47 students when the school’s started its journey. The students used to bunk bunk classes mainly because of the poor infrastructure. I took it as a challenge and I upgraded my school and I tried to improve the infrastructure," said Mishra, an MA in political science. Electricity was available in the village as well as the school in 2011.
