Director Raajdeep Ghosh came up with a funny yet serious issue and turned it into an interesting movie. The story of ‘Gupi Gayen’ deals with Gupi (Rwitobroto Mukherjee) a countryside boy who has a born with the talent for singing, who inherited the talent from his deceased Grandfather and father (Saswata Chatterjee). Even though his father and grandfather were a talented classical singer, they failed to find success. In anger and frustration, Gupi’s mother decided to not allow her son to sing ever.Things changed for good when Gupi met the ghost of his grandfather, who insisted him to sing.
But things are difficult for Gupi, how will he solve his problem? Will he be able to overcome his hurdles? Will he confront his mother about the decision? The story will keep you interested till the end for sure.
The protagonist ‘gupi’ is played by Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Aparajita Adhya will be portraying the character of Gupi’s mother and Sabyasachi Chakraborty is the friendly ghost.
The movie is not a sequel of Upendrakishore Roychowdhury’s famous story ‘Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne’.
