The brand new Indian horror series, Ghoul, has been finally scheduled for release on Friday, August 24 on Netflix. It is one of the seven Netflix Indian Originals following Sacred games, which tasted huge success in India and abroad.
Written and directed by Patrick Graham, Ghoul is co-produced by Blumhouse, the same production house which was a part of ‘Insidious’ and ‘Get out’ horror series and Indian production house, Phantom films. All the three parts of the series will be released at one-go and thus the fans don’t need to wait as cliffhangers and can even download the series later. The star cast includes Radhika Apte, who has starred for two Netflix series successively – Lust Stories and Sacred Games. Mahesh Balraj, seen in films like Haidar and Gangs of Wasseypur, plays the role of the villain.
The plot revolves around Nida Rahim (played by Apte) a military interrogator who is sent to a remote place to interrogate terrorist Ali Saeed Al Yacoub (played by Balraj) who reveals evil and demonic powers with time.
The 90-second trailer is already out and it is definitely not for the faint-hearted. It seems like Yacoub manages to entrap the military staff in the compound and blackmails them with their fears and secrets. The trailer promises a gripping and scary plot and the last 5 seconds will definitely have you jumping out of your seat.
