Papua New Guinea, located on the northern side of Australian mainland experiences snowfall. This is because it is located very close to the equator. Siddhanta messaged from satellite phone that he was hard pressed for time and needed to acclimatize fast. He headed straight for an altitude of 2200m. The temperature though comfortable during day but descends once it is afternoon. Siddhanta was quoted saying that the routes for Himalayas are better defined but here he had to travel through dense forests. “The weather cleared up on Friday morning and Mount Giluwe was visible, said Siddhanta.
