An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale hit Kokrajar, Assam at 10.20 AM Wednesday. The tremors were felt across the Northeast belt of India. Tremors were also felt in West Bengal, Bangladesh, and Bihar.
There are no reports of casualties or damage of property. According to the reports, the epicenter of the earthquake was 2 km north of Kokrajhar town in Assam and at a depth of 10 km.
