Waste Management is something which is of a major concern in a world of today. It not just helps to reuse the discards but even controls pollution largely. The increase in population results in the increase in demand and hence increases the wastes as well. To reduce the wastes we need to regenerate it but, for that, we first need to segregate it.
Wastes can be distinctly put under three categories namely, Dry waste, Wet waste and Hazardous waste. Dry wastes are the ones which can be recycled and reused while wet wastes are the ones which can be composted and can be used as fertilizers. Hazardous waste however is one which reacts when it comes in contact with other chemicals hence precautions should be separately taken while disposing hazardous wastes.
A ‘Zero Waste Station’ is something to look for in the city of joy. Near Central Park in Sector III, it separates the Dry, Wet, Hazardous wastes. Through this people can aware themselves of segregating the wastes and disposing them in a way which does not affect the environment. In fact, it might sound strange but there are start-up’s in Kolkata who make money from wastes. They manage wastes for those who cannot do it for themselves and earn for their own by cleaning for others.
Discriminated disposal of wastes not just keeps the city cleaner and makes the wastes easily manageable but it even reduces pollution in over-polluted metro cities like ours. So, discriminate and ‘discriminate’ for the good.
