When foodies Devashish Kuthari, Vikrant Dudhoria and Pooja Baid decided to join hands to enjoy the sin of Chocolate and the blessings of home-made vegetarian food, they knew something magical would be created. Good Vegetarian Food of Calcutta (GVF), the group started their journey in the year 2007 and came a long way. The Dark Chocolate tasting club in Kolkata has broken all records and they are creating the right buzz all over the city. It is true that Dark chocolates are not common in India and GVF created something great last week at Juice Bar- The Yellow Straw. The Members of GVF were so passionate about the making of chocolate that Piyush Kankaria the club owner of Yellow Straw opened his juice bar for chocolate tasters. Dark Chocolate popcorns, along with various different kind of chocolates been created in the pantry. If you’re lucky enough, you might get a taste of Gondhoraj Chocolates. We wonder what is that?
Not just a pioneer in Dark Chocolate tasting, the GVF’s are the first food vegetarian foodies of India who organised food walks and unusual pop ups at Alliance Francaise and East Bengal’s vegetarian pop-up meets. In future, the passionate group plans a day long chocolate making competition for children, they are planning to open film and music shows related to chocolates and even open chocolate clubs in schools. How cool is that!
