Metro is considered to be one of the most complacent modes of public transport, we can say this with full authority but there are people who cannot say this such conviction. Recently an incident at the Girish Park station caught the attention of the metro officials. Mampi De, a visually impaired woman accidentally fell off the edge of the platform. This triggered the attention of the metro railway and they have decided to do a few changes in the stations to make them more disabled friendly.
The new stations have tactile tiles on the edge of the platforms which make them easier to access for the disabled people. On the other hand, the old platforms lack this facility and so, the officials have decided to make these old platforms as disabled-friendly as possible.
