The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that a depression is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal before Laxmi Puja. According to their predictions, the depression may turn into a cyclone. The coastal districts of West Bengal may receive light to moderate rains. Tripura and Mizoram will be badly affected. According to reports, the depression is likely to form in the Andaman Sea on October 21 or 22. It will make a landfall near Chittagong or adjoining Burma's Arakan Province by October 23-26. The speed of the storm can be 55 - 100 kilometers per hour. By October 23-26, thick clouds will cover east Midnapore and South 24 Parganas. Light to moderate rains may occur in North and South 24 Parganas and East Midnapore.
