Writers like Ravi Subramanian, Puja Changoiwala, Mukul Deva, Sudhanshu Bisen and Novoneel chakraborty have been more naughty than nice since previous year follow ups. What changed though? "Nobody wants to read about a good boy and girl. Somewhere deep inside all of us are a survival instinct that comes to fore when reading crime thrillers", stated Subramanian in his book "In the name of God". However, Novoneel chakraborty author of ’’Forever is a lie" and "Forever is true" however has a different perspective. He feels that it is an inherit drama in the crime that attract his readers. He has turned his genre into psycho- sexual genre which has made the readers incline to his work. "My books are not limited to crime alone, what excites me and my readers are how a character adopts in a situation, which is dark and sensual at times”, stated the "Stranger Trilogy" Author.
The shelf rack shows and conclude that reading public is devouring the genre and digging it for more. Be it "Murder in a minute", "a thousand times over" or even "The forever series". Mystery makers are rolling their sleeves and changing the game.
