On Wednesday the Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee talked about the Guru-shisshya tradition that India gifted the world. She tweeted about it on social media. The government took an initiative to honor teachers for their excellent contribution to the field of education. The CM added, "The teachers who have accomplished many things will be felicitated every year with 'Siksha Ratna Samman' on Teachers Day." Teachers' Day is celebrated for showing respect to all the teachers for their contributions in the field of education.
