Chhath Puja 2024: Indian Railways will run special trains for Chhath Puja, check the details

The festival of Diwali is just a few days away, and right after Diwali comes one of the major festivals of the Bihari community, Chhath Puja. To mark this occasion, the Indian Railways will run a special train from Asansol to Patna to manage the festival rush.

Chhath Puja is an ancient Hindu festival. This folk festival of sun worship is observed in eastern India, especially in Bihar, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, and Nepal. Both men and women participate in this festival to ensure the happiness and prosperity of their families. Many people who live away from home travel back during this time. It leads to increased crowds on regular trains. To accommodate this surge, the railways have decided to operate a special train.

This year, Chhath Puja falls on November 5. Therefore, this special train will run from November 3 to November 5.

1. The train will depart from Asansol at 1:20 p.m. - reach Patna at 8 p.m.
2. The train will depart from Patna at 12:05 a.m. - reach Asansol at 6:15 a.m.

According to railway authorities, this special train will make it easier for those who work or live outside to return home. The Asansol-Patna special train will halt at multiple stations along the route, including Chittaranjan, Jamtara, Madhupur, Jasidih, Jhajha, Kiul, Mokama, Bakhtiyarpur, Patna Sahib, and Rajendra Nagar Junction.
