Kolkata is making all sorts of efforts to go pollution free and their latest venture is proof of that. On Sunday the New Town Kolkata Development Authority installed e-vehicles charging station in New Town. The station can charge a four-wheeler in an hour. It is the first fast-charging station of the state. The station will charge Rs 100 per hour for vehicles. An official stated that the step has been taken as a part of our sustained efforts to reduce carbon emissions and move towards a cleaner, greener sustainable environment. Apart from these, the NKDA has also come up with 10 E-vehicle charging points. These charging stations will take 5 hours to charge a vehicle; two-wheelers will take Rs 10 per hour and the four wheelers charge Rs 20 per hour. New Town has acquired the position of a Gold Rate certified Green City and has got the certificate from Indian Green Building Council. The increasing number of the e-vehicles charging station is a step towards a clean and green environment. The new charging station is situated opposite of the Mother’s Wax Museum in New Town.
