The famed cartoonist Chandi Lahiri, who served Anandabazar for 50 years, breathed his last today at around 1.50 pm in R.G.Kar Hospital of North Kolkata. He was 88 at the time of his demise.
Chandi Lahiri was not well since few days and was admitted to the hospital. He was taken care of by her daughter Trina Lahiri. West Bengal Chief Minister twitted expressing deep condolences for his family.
In the month of September 2017, Chandi Lahiri was felicitated in the occasion of NSHM Awards for Excellence, NSHM campus. “Extremely lucky to have his blessings” says Mrityunjoy Chatterjee, Director of N.S.H.M Institute of Media and Design.
