The QS India Rankings for 2020 has been revealed recently and hails a great moment of pride for Kolkata. Two institutes based in Kolkata have topped among the state run universities. Calcutta University has secured the first place followed by Jadavpur University. The Governor and Chief Minister of West Bengal, Jagdeep Dhankar and Mamta Banerjee respectively, have said that it is a proud moment for them.
It has once again been proved that Bengal is the seat of knowledge. And when it comes to education, Bengal tops the heap. CU Vice Chancellor Sonali Chakrabarty has said on Tuesday that CU is just inches below the central educational institutes. The wise workings of CU have resulted in its premier rank. She would like to hear the name of CU not only in India, but also in the world, where it has secured a commendable position of 27th rank. She also says that the staff or faculty members of CU are excellent, which is why CU is where it is.
The central universities which have ranked among the top ten are dominated by IIT’s. However, Dhankar, the chancellor of the two Universities hope better performances by the two universities. Our Chief Minister, Mamta Banerjee, even took to twitter to congratulate the Universities. She has written a lengthy message announcing her hearty congratulation.
