Bengal Women Cops Get Taekwondo Training

Around 160-odd women cops started receiving training on self-defence from a 20-year old taekwondo expert from Los Angeles. The Shibpur Police Lines ground in Howrah turned into an open-air classroom as Puja Nagpal, who has been guiding and teaching for the past 11 days, believed that the training would help the cops to become stronger and more confident. The martial art regime is expected to continue until January 8. Upon returning back to India, she decided to impart taekwondo lessons to help the women stand up and face difficult situations. Initially she began teaching at a small village in Himachal and soon she was teaching taekwondo across the whole nation. A student of electrical engineering and computer science at Berkeley University, she paid attention to Bengal this time and after she was given the green-signal, she was quite happy to provide the voluntary training program.
