Tourists from Bengal would be facilitated with Kolkata-Silghat Express, which means interested travelers would no longer have to change the train at Guwahati station. There would be two added stoppages at Amoni and Jakhalabandha. Amoni is around 43 Km from Kaziranga, while Jakhalabandha is 19 Km away from the ‘world’s largest habitat for one-horned Rhinoceros’. The weekly train would be functional from Kolkata from January 7 and Silghat a day later. According to the survey, the bridge construction across river Brahmaputra near Silghat, would be completed shortly. Upon completion, the bridge would be included in the budget planning. The route would get easier for the tourists, and flagging off yielded better communication from middle-Assam to the rest of the nation. The Express is incorporated with 19 latest state-of the-art LHB coaches and an AC 2-tier, four AC-3 tier, eight sleeper class and four general second class coaches.
