Awareness Programme in Birapara

Human trafficking is about recruitment, harbouring or transporting people into a situation of exploitation through the use of violence, deception or coercion and forced to work against their will. An awareness programme on human trafficking was organized for some students in Birapara. The seminar was held on Friday and this initiative was taken by the representatives of Jabalah Action Research Organization and the police officials of Birpara Police Station also helped them in conducting the seminar.
According to Birpara police station sources, the representatives talked about human trafficking. There were some discussions on the ways to prevent human trafficking and the responsibilities of the parents. The block co-ordinator of Voluntary organization Abdul Latif said that 18 youngsters from three tea gardens participated in this event. The representatives think that this seminar will play an important role in educating some youngsters.
