To enrich the cohesion of language and cultural history between two neighbouring nations- Bangladesh and India, a press conference was held at Press Club, Kolkata for Bangladesh Film Festival. Twenty-three films would be screened at the four days 2nd Bangladesh Film Festival. Few senior Bangladesh diplomat will inaugurate the Bangladesh film festival on February 15.
Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kolkata, Toufique Hasan told Jiyo Bangla,
we must say this is a great opportunity to work jointly. This film festival will increase cross-border engagements and help to strengthen the bond. Not just politically, even emotionally we will help us grow strong. Apar Bangla and Opar Bangla will come together and join as one in this platform. What else do we want?
The festival will open at Nandan in the presence of Bangladesh Information Minister Hasan Mahund and West Bengal Tourism Minister Gautam Deb. As a special guest, renowned filmmaker Goutam Ghosh will grace the event.
The films will be screened at Nandan and Nazrul Tirtha, starting from 16th February and will draw the curtain on February 18. Films like ‘Guerilla’ and ‘Chitra Nodir Paare’ will be screened for the second time on special request. Apart from these films, new releases like ‘Dahan’ and ‘Putra’ will be screened. Speaking about the inaugural film of the festival, ‘Aamder Bongobondhu’ will be screened.
