Air quality monitoring station at North Kolkata

Government and environmentalists have become really conscious about the rate of air pollution in the country. West Bengal is also not lagging behind in maintaining the air quality of the state. West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) is thinking of installing the new automatic monitoring station for North Kolkata at the Kolkata Armed Police camp on BT Road. The earlier monitoring station was situated on the Rabindra Bharati University campus. There are three automatic air pollution monitoring station in the South. CESC Station at Taratala , US consulate station at the Ho Chi Minh Sarani and the WBCPCB station at Victoria Memorial Hall; whereas north had only one at RBU but that is not operational now.
