Before the release of 'Shibpur,' directed by Arindam Bhattacharya, on June 30, he announced his next upcoming feature film. After ‘Antarleen’ ( ‘Flat No. 609’ (2018), ‘Antardhaan’ (2021), and 'Shibpur’ (2023), he announced his next film, ‘Durgapur Junction’.
This film will be made in the context of Durgapur, the city of industry, and is inspired by a real-life incident in the USA. This movie will tell the story of the dense mystery surrounding serial killings and the efforts of a journalist to penetrate the depths of the mystery with the help of a young police officer.
Actress Swastika Mukherjee will work with Arindam Bhattacharya again in ‘Durgapur Junction’ after the film 'Shibpur'. She will play the role of a journalist. Actor Vikram Chatteriee will be seen as a police officer. Apart from Swastika and Vikram, the thriller movie will also star Ekavali Khanna, Rajdeep Sarkar, and Pradip Dhar in important roles. This will be the third time Swastika and Vikram will share the screen after their previous two films, ‘Ami O Amar Girlfriends’ and ‘Saheb Bibi Golam’.
The director, Arindam Bhattacharya, said that the film will be shot in Durgapur, Bolpur, and Kolkata during June and July. If all goes according to plan, the film is expected to be released this winter.
