Now the adult couples who are not married can live happily as a couple in a live-in relationship. This remarkable judgement comes by the Supreme Court of India. A few days back there was a case filed by a man named Nandakumar in the state of Kerala, where he married a 20-year-old woman named Thushara. The woman’s father objected the marriage because the man didn’t reach the age of marriage. The Kerala High court had declared the marriage illegal and provided the custody of the woman to his father. This incident had questioned the freedom of choice of the girl with whom she wants to spend her life. But later the Supreme court mentioned that "we make it clear that the freedom of choice would be of Thushara as to with whom she wants to live".
Later after this incident, it was the challenge for the apex court of India i.e the Supreme Court to give a judgement on the crucial issue of life in relationships. The Supreme Court said in his report that now live in relations is recognized by the legislature and comes under the provisions of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
