Aaji E Bosonte was a fantastically superb evening which gifted us the presence of eminent media personalities celebrating spring once again in Rabindra Sadan. The entire program was conceptualized by eminent actor Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee and brought together a bevy of celebrities who are leading the light, did justice to the occasion. This was not only an ode to spring but also a thought that made him bring together the contemporary form of dance along with the classic form of Rabindra dance. The muse of the show was definitely thespian danseuse Guru Purnima Ghosh who performed with the music by Sraboni Sen.
The birthday of Chaitali Dasgupta was celebrated with huge arrangements and people like Subodh Sarkar, Chaiti Ghoshal, Raja Dasgupta, Madhumita Basu, Sreelekha Mitra and many more such personalities were present on stage to felicitate her. The ode to spring ‘Aaji E Bosonte’ was given a beautiful homage with the performances by Chandreyee Ghosh, Bidipta Chakraborty, Madhumita Basu, Soumili Ghosh Biswas, Koneenica Bandhopadhyay, Rubena Chatterjee, Paramita Saha among others. Sudarshan Chakraborty came up with his contemporary form of dance which set the mood for Tagore. “I feel that because of Sujoy only we all came together once again because we all are too busy these days. He is working with all forms of dance while contemporary dance has also gained importance. To me songs of Tagore are ever contemporary. Therefore Sapphire is today performing with their physical vocabulary and I am very excited especially for those audiences who have seen me performing in other dance forms but not Tagore” said Sudarshan Chakraborty.
