Aadhaar Update: The deadline for Aadhaar card corrections has been extended, learn the details

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for Aadhaar card corrections. During this extended period, mistakes on the Aadhaar card can be corrected for free.

An Aadhaar card is an essential identity document today. However, sometimes incorrect information is printed on Aadhaar cards, due to technological issues. If such errors are found on the Aadhaar card, it needs to be updated. These corrections can be done at an Aadhaar service center or online.

Earlier, the free Aadhaar update was valid until September 14, but this date has now been extended to December 14. However, after three months, a fee will be charged for correcting errors on the Aadhaar card. After that, the service will remain free, for 5-7 aged children and 15-17 years, but for adults, a minimum fee of ₹100 will be required for updates.

New process for changing name or address on the Aadhaar card:

1. Visit the website:://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
2. Login using your Aadhaar number and OTP sent to the registered mobile number.
3. Check your profile information and address.
4. If the details are correct, click on the tab that says 'I verify that the above details are correct.'
5. Then select the document option from the drop-down list.
6. Upload a valid document like a ration card, voter ID, passport, driving license, or any government-issued ID.
7. The uploaded file should be smaller than 2 MB and in PDF or JPG format.
8. After the information is submitted, the corrections will be processed.
