Director Ranjan Chowdhury’s film 'Chirodiner- Ek Onnyo Premer Goplo' has finally released. The movie had been slated for a February release, but was delayed due to some hiccups faced by the team, from Central Board of Film Certification. A press conference was held at The Press Club on 19th June. The event was graced by actor Samadarshi Dutta, Subhasish Mukherjee, Bangladeshi actor Shampa Hasnine, Shreela Mazumdar and Biswajit Chakraborty.
The word ‘Musalman’ was the reason, the censor board reportedly issued a directive to mute it. Not just a dialogue, the censor board even removed a special dance number from the final cut. The romantic drama revolves around the relationship between two individuals belonging to Hindu and Muslim community. The movie and the poster launch of this Bengali feature film were released on 19th June. Ranjan said, “I am really thankful that the film will release. After working for days and nights, if the movie doesn’t get a release then it is shameful for the director. Things are good now the CBFC gave us permission and the film is going to be released soon.
