A special day for a special couple

Looks like wedding bells are ringing everywhere in Bollywood from Anushka Sharma to Sonam Kapoor. However, this marriage was a little different and emotional. Here, the groom and bride were quite ecstatic and nervous like any other couple. We are talking about Ishan and Surya; Kerala’s first trans-couple who got married on Wednesday, 10^th May.

Ishan announced his wedding to Surya, a well-known trans-activist and television anchor in April. Ever since the announcement, the whole transgender community in Kerala has been trying to organize their wedding in a grand way.  500 people from across Kerala came to Thiruvananthapuram for the function. Besides the community members, other prominent personalities present at the wedding were former MP TN Seema, Mayor VP Prashanth, dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi, Ward Councilor IP Binu and activist and academic Devika KadakampallySurendran.
