”A Changing Vision in 2020", kolkata May Get "The Eye"

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's dream project "Kolkata Eye" will be put in place by the beginning of 2020. The Eye will be the replica of the famous "London Eye" making kolkata being the bird eye view from above. The view of the skyline and the Hooghly River will be the major attraction.

Larsen & Toubro has been selected through a global tendering process will be in work progress soon. It will resume once it gets the clearance from the finance department. 

"All clearances regarding the project have been received. We have selected one multinational company. The file has been sent to the state finance department and once we get its approval, we will start the work. We have set January-February 2020 as the deadline to complete the project," stated State Urban Development and Municipal Affairs minister Firhad Hakim. 

It is opined that the estimated future project shall cost of Rs 400 crore for the 135m-high giant Ferris wheel. A huge technological input is expected to rise. 60 tubes with seating arrangement for eight persons in each of them shall be planned. The giant ferris wheel will be able to carry 480 people at a time. A whole lot if 45-55 minute will be required to make a complete turn. This huge build-up shall be in front of Millennium Park giving the city an overlook view. 

This huge figure shall be the first of its kind in Asian continent leaving a huge hope that it will emerge as a major tourist attraction in near future which is 2 years from now.
